Exploring color through nature has been a laborious yet surprising and satisfying process for me. Through history, artists have painted flowers as subject matter, interpreting them in their own individual ways. Perhaps the reason is that nature has a direct, perceptual connection with the viewer. The reason is almost always, instant. The viewer does not have to analyze the image before responding. That is perhaps the most satisfying aspect of it., for the artist.
