A man made fire that has been burning for 50 years.

The hole is 70 meters wide and 30 meters deep. That means that much size of a small cricket ground. It didn't happen like the volcano itself. In 1971, Soviet geologists were searching for oil in the caracon desert in Turkmenistan. When they searched more and more deeper for that precious black gold their platform crashed and methane came out. Since methane is toxic, it has become important to watch the surrounding villages not to spread. So, what did they do? There is no way to close the leak, even if it is closed, it is not enough to prevent the leakage. Geologists set the gas on fire thinking it would stop the gas coming out within weeks. That hole still burns today completely different than they thought! Now this is an entertainment center.
